De Crevecoeur

In this video of the new world trade centre, it shows a time lapse of its building in America. After the twin towers were knocked down in 2001, this shook America because they had not been under threat in a long time. But the power of the nation meant they fought back. This building shows that the have to have the biggest and the best (this building will be the tallest in North America), and that new is best. This can be demonstrated in  De Crevecoeur's book as one of the themes of the book is the value of work and reward in America. This means there is more to aspire to, wheras in Europe and worldwide the visions of land are represented differently. For example in Europe it is more important to savor and fix the ancient buildings than build new. This then means there is more reward in America, due to its 'newness'. This still stands today as America is known to have the best, so and emmigrant is going to get a taste of that.
